National Genealogical Society Conference in Fort Wayne, IN – May 2026

What was it like to attend the 2026 National Genealogical Society (NGS) Conference in Fort Wayne, Indiana? In this video, I take you behind the scenes at one of the premier genealogy conferences in the United States. Join me as I share the sights and sounds from the expo hall, highlight some of the major genealogy companies and organizations in attendance, and discuss how conference attendees can access recorded sessions after the event.

You’ll also get a look at the world-renowned Allen County Public Library Genealogy Center, one of the largest genealogy research libraries in the country, located right here in Fort Wayne.

Along the way, you’ll see booths from MyHeritage, FamilySearch, Ancestry, American Ancestors, the Board for Certification of Genealogists, Family Tree Maker, and many others. Conferences like NGS provide a unique opportunity to learn from experts, explore new products, ask questions, and connect with fellow family historians.

Finally, I feature one of the most fascinating products I discovered at the conference: NanoFiche, a technology designed to preserve family photographs, documents, and stories for future generations by engraving them onto durable metal media.

Whether you attended NGS 2026 in person, participated virtually, or simply want to see what happens at a major genealogy conference, I hope you enjoy this tour of Fort Wayne and the NGS experience.
