Exploring the Sons of the American Revolution with Genealogist Deborah Maddox

I am joined by Deborah Maddox, a staff genealogist at the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR). We look into the history, purpose, and membership criteria of the SAR, as well as the differences and collaborations between the SAR and the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).

Deborah provides a detailed overview of the organization’s structure, eligibility requirements, and the application process. Additionally, we discuss the benefits of joining SAR, various activities members can participate in, and the resources available on the SAR website to help genealogists in their research.
