Social Security Death Index (SSDI) and Applications & Claims Index for Genealogy and Family History

Did you know there are more records to find in the U.S. Social Security records? There is more than just the Social Security Death Index (aka SSDI), there is also a different index called the Social Security Applications and Claims Index. Both of these indexes have a little bit of different information. Additionally, where there is an index, there are original records such as the original application known as the SS-5, payroll records and more to find. 

In this video I’ll go into the two indexes, where to find them and some recent changes on where to find the original records.
