Ancestry New Networks: A Powerful New Research Tool

Genealogy TV

Ancestry has just introduced Networks, an innovative feature designed to help genealogists create and organize groups of connected individuals. This powerful tool is perfect for implementing FAN Club research strategies (Friends, Associates, and Neighbors) as well as clusters of ancestors with something or an event in common.

With Networks, you can:

* Create clusters of people who immigrated together on passenger manifests

* Organize individuals mentioned in family bibles

* Create and understand a neighborhood from a census record in an effort to find more families living nearby

* Document various types of community connections to enhance your research

This feature is completely customizable. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination.

By studying networks of connected people, you’ll discover more records and gain deeper insights into your ancestors’ communities, ultimately building a more accurate family history. These connections help enrich your family’s story by revealing the social context and relationships that shaped your ancestors’ lives.

Key features include:

* Add people who are either in or outside your family tree

* Attach sources and images directly to networks

* Organize everyone from group photos or census records into meaningful clusters

Note: Networks is currently in beta as part of the ProTools add-on to your existing Ancestry subscription. Additional improvements are expected in future updates.
