Newspapers!

Newspapers are some of the best resources for genealogists. In this episode we’ll talk about what is in them and where to find them. Many of them are free to search!

The cool part about newspaper research is that it is so diversified providing a ton of information for your family history. They are one of my favorite records sources for genealogy. They can help tell the story that other records don’t.

You should know that newspapers are in a variety of places, with more and more coming online every day. Unfortunately, there is no one repository that has all newspapers.

There is a handout for this that includes a list of clickable links to many online sources and all 50 United States Archives and online Digital Collections.  Note: there are a few states that don’t have online digital collections.
